Education is key for a sustainable development

En GardE Germany actively supports a school in Sukuta, The Gambia

As an international training institute education and educational development of students is a matter of heart for us.

Especially, if the support of such a project opens opportunities for young ambitious boys and girls to graduate, achieve jobs and gain a self determined life. At the same time it helps to fight causes for migration.

The secret of success of this privately operated school lies in the well structured pedagocical concept  but also in the close cooperation of the german foundation with the school management and the Gambian parents foundation, founded in 2015.

Today 650 students visit this non-confessional school, which is proud to be highlighted as one of the best schools in Gambia. In 2019 the Sukuta school can already celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Last year En GardE Germany invested a larger sum in the building of several new classrooms including a computer lab and a solar system. With this update in infrastructure the school can now offer IT-courses for classes 6-9.   – An important step towards future job requirements.

With the En GardE-sponsored solar system the school has – for the first time – stabile power supply.

Democracy is still young in The Gambia, which is one of the poorest nations in the world, but offers hope for a better future.

We from En GardE Germany want to help the young democracy of The Gambia (being one of the poorest nations of the world) to professionalize education and thereby contribute to a better future.
